What is political kayfabe?

Lect. Pounds’ Iron Law of Purity holds that those who control an institution care more about its doctrinal purity and their own unchallenged power inside it than about the institution’s growth, electoral success, or real-world effectiveness; they would rather keep it small, orthodox, & even dormant than share control with a broader, less “pure” coalition.​ This observation sits in a family of similarly named “iron laws” that claim certain social and organizational outcomes are near inescapable.
